TRANSFORMING NONPROFITS through the HR Pro Bono Corps
HR professionals volunteer their expertise to help nonprofits in need

Nonprofits are the cornerstone of communities across the world. And although nonprofits continue to demonstrate remarkable success in meeting the daily and diverse needs of our communities, this sector faces significant challenges when it comes to training and retaining its own talent.

High employee turnover, an increase in executive retirements, and a lack of cost-effective development opportunities are only some of the human capital management challenges that threaten to undermine the impact and effectiveness of these critical organizations.

Of equal concern, many nonprofits lack the internal talent management expertise and resources to tackle these issues. If you’re ready to join the HR Pro Bono Corps, click here to apply.

The Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation’s (the “Foundation”) HR Pro Bono Corps is a unique and effective way to bring much-needed human capital management expertise to the nonprofit sector at no cost.

Through this program, we recruit and match HR professionals with nonprofits in need of coaching or project-based consulting to address a specific talent management challenge.

Our Foundation team carefully screens all nonprofits and all prospective volunteers in order to ensure that all matches are made on the basis of skills, interests, and organizational needs.

A team from Pitney Bowes assisted City Year Los Angeles with the creation of a competency-based onboarding process and training strategy.

City Year Los Angeles wanted to improve retention rates and needed support from an expert team that could guide them in the development of this strategy.

The experts at Pitney Bowes helped City Year Los Angeles carefully identify competencies for each role within the organization and redesign the onboarding and training process.

A volunteer from University of Miami assisted Stand for Children with the development of a multiyear learning and development strategy.

Stand for Children wanted to create a learning and development strategy that would help them better define business needs, meet current demands, and prepare them for the future.

Through a series of coaching sessions, an HR Pro Bono Corps member supported the team at Stand for Children on a needs assessment and prioritization of goals. The coaching resulted in a three-year learning and development strategy.
